Tsuga Canopies helps raise $1,200 for Mountain Alliance

Tsuga Canopies, a local business in Boone, hosted a fundraising event on Nov. 5.

Food was served, 60 raffle prizes and silent auction items were won and local outdoor enthusiasts traded and sold their gear.

More than $1,200 was raised for Mountain Alliance, a local nonprofit organization that offers service- and adventure-oriented learning trips for high school students.

Businesses that contributed to the event included 1st Tracks, Appalachian Ski Mountain, Bald Guy Brew, Black Cat Burrito, Boone Bagelry, Boone Bike, Bulldog Beer & Wine, Burton Moomaw Acupuncture, The Inn at Crestwood, Farmers Hardware Ski Shop, Footsloggers, Green Mother Goods, Haircut 101, Hob Nob Farm Café, Indo, Lucky Penny, Magic Cycles, Mast General Store, Melanie’s, Murphy’s, Our Daily Bread, Peabody’s Wine & Beer Merchants, Recess, Rock and Roll Emporium, Rock Dimensions, Stick Boy Bread Company, Town Tavern and Under the Sun.
