Library’s Rare Books Room open to the public
The Rhinehart Rare Books and Special Collections Room at Appalachian State University’s Belk Library and Information Commons will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays, June 13, 20 and 27.
The room, located on the library’s fourth floor, contains a collection of rare books on British history, along with a collection of Victorian page turners.
Marjon Ames, who has worked with the collection as a Rhinehart postdoctoral fellow, will be on hand to show visitors some of the more interesting books in the room.
The special collection was donated by Bill and Maureen Rhinehart of Melville, N.Y. A native North Carolinian, Bill Rhinehart earned two degrees at Appalachian and was a longtime school principal.
