Keeping Ears to the ground
Hound Ears Club in Blowing Rock recently broke ground on an
enhancement project at its front entrance. The scope of the project includes the demolition of the
existing security offices and the construction of a new facility, the redesign of the entrance/exit
lanes to include a lane for guest traffic, as well as enhanced landscaping at its main entrance to
the club. Hound Ears Club has contracted local construction company Boone Construction Inc.
and Steve Silver, president, to serve as the general contractor for the project. This
renovation of the main entrance to the club is slated for completion in the spring of 2010 and is
part of the club's long-term commitment to improve club facilities. Hound Ears Club was
founded in 1964 by Grover, Harry and Spencer Robbins. Pictured are (left to right) Fred Halback,
