Go Fish!
The Boone Fork chapter of Trout Unlimited was formed this
summer with 15 charter members.
Since the initial organization in June, there have been two
meetings of the members. Currently, the Boone Fork chapter meets once a month at Foscoe Fishing
Company & Outfitters, located at 8857 N.C> 105 South in Foscoe.
The next meeting
is on Oct. 13 at 6 p.m., and anyone interested in fly-fishing or fish and water conservation is
welcome to attend and join.
"The first rise on a quiet morning, a perfect cast into a
promising river, a day spent fishing with your kids on a stream you've known since childhood," a
Trout Unlimited spokesperson said. "This is what Trout Unlimited is all about. We are 140,000
conservation-minded anglers united behind a simple philosophy: Take care of the fish, and the
fishing will take care of itself."
The Boone Fork chapter will have informative speakers at
its meetings and activities geared toward preserving and beautifying many of the local trout fishing
streams.
"There is no reason that we shouldn't have over 100 members in our chapter," the
spokesperson said. "We invite all anglers, fishing guides and businesses geared to trout fishing,
both adults and children, to visit with us and learn more about our planned
activities."
