Freshmen arrive at ASU Aug. 17
Each year, move-in day is marked with excitement and anticipation as freshmen begin their college career.
Freshmen will arrive at Appalachian State University Friday,
Aug. 17, for the 2012-13 academic year.
According to university officials, “Traffic in
town may be more congested at times as a result.”
The new students will move into their
campus residence halls from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Returning students will move in Saturday,
Aug. 18. Classes begin Aug. 21.
The university has a series of Welcome Week activities
planned for students, including a Black and Gold Ceremony to officially welcome freshmen and
transfers to the Appalachian Family, DJ dance, outdoor movie night, introductions to student life
and other events.
