The 2010 WHS Empty Bowls fundraiser on March 27 raised $6,100 for the Hunger and Health Coalition. The fact that these funds were received in April means even more dollars from the 2010 WHS Empty Bowls Project because of the 'Feinstein Challenge.' Located in Rhode Island, the Feinstein Foundation will make a donation to The Hunger and Health Coalition based on the amount of contributions received during March and April. HHC executive director Compton Fortuna who came to the high school to receive the check and thank the students said, "In this economy there is an increase in demand for the amount of food we can provide for the hungry in our community. The need for contributions this year is unprecedented and every dollar makes a difference as the Hunger & Health Coalition works to help local families meet basic needs." Photo by Erin Parsons
