Boone council member Rennie Brantz was sworn in for his second term in office Tuesday morning by Mayor Loretta Clawson.
Clawson, council member Jamie Leigh and newcomer Andy Ball will take the oath of office at the regular meeting on Dec. 17.

The trip is sponsored by the Holocaust Education Foundation and will include stops in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Hafia. Brantz will also visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, the world center for documentation, research, education and commemoration of the Holocaust.
Brantz also serves on the town of Boone's historic preservation commission.
The Boone Town Council meets the third Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. in council chambers located beside the police department on Blowing Rock Road.
