BRAHM seeking docents and other volunteers
The Blowing Rock Art and History Museum is seeking volunteers of all ages for its inaugural docent program, the BRAHM Gallery Guides.
Prior experience or specific knowledge of art or history is beneficial but not required; applicants simply need an enthusiasm for learning and sharing knowledge with others.
Those interested in applying to be a gallery guide are welcome to attend an informational meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 1, at 9 a.m.
The museum has many other volunteer opportunities for those who prefer not be gallery guides. More information and an application can be found on the BRAHM website, http://www.blowingrockmuseum.org.
Those interested in attending the gallery guide meeting should contact Ethan Brooks-Livingston, director of visitors and members services, at (828) 295-9099, ext. 3004, or (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than noon on Monday, Oct. 31.
The meeting will be held in the BRAHM Community Meeting Room; coffee and light refreshments will be served. The museum is located at 159 Chestnut St., at the corner of Chestnut and Main.
The mission of the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum is to promote the visual arts, history and heritage of the mountains through educational programs, exhibitions and significant permanent collections.
