Applications being accepted for Alpha Gamma Scholarship at ASU, LMC

The Alpha Gamma Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International will award two scholarships to students majoring in teacher education.

One scholarship will be awarded to a student at Appalachian State University, and one will be awarded to a student at Lees-McRae College.

The application deadline is Friday, May 9. Applicants must be female students, graduates of a North Carolina high school and enrolled at either Appalachian or Lees-McRae College. They also must have a 3.0 GPA or better. Preference will be given to college juniors.

To apply, send a letter of application with a statement of financial need, statement of commitment to teaching, list of on- and off-campus extracurricular activities, complete and current transcript, and two letters of reference/recommendation.

Completed applications should be sent to Dr. Betty B. Long, Appalachian State University, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Boone, N.C. 28608.
