Knees were bruised, skates were scuffed and goals were met in Columbia, S.C., last month as the Appalachian Roller Girls (ARG) won their first official match, or bout, having faced Columbia Quad Squad"s Miss B-Havers.
"I"m very, very, very happy and excited," ARG creator Jordyn Coats said last week. "I just couldn"t believe it. It blew my mind."
With a score of 64 to 59, ARG proved it"s been worth the year of effort.
About 40 High Country residents accompanied the girls to Columbia for the match and, thanks to the victory, they"re hoping the fanship will increase.
You have plenty of chances to catch the action, and we have a full bout schedule.
