Turning In/Visible
In/Visible Theatre, in a co-production with the Blue Ridge Community Theatre, announces its youth theater production of “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”
Open auditions for this project will be held on Saturday, May 5, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Appalachian Rhythm Studio at 249 Wilson Drive in Boone.
Youths between the ages of 12 and 17 may audition, and no acting experience is necessary. Actors may bring a prepared monologue or read a scene from the play, which will be provided.
The play will be directed by Karen Sabo and stage-managed by Erin Wallace, with rehearsals taking place during May and traveling performances in early June.
In/Visible Theatre is a new local arts venture focusing on socially relevant plays, developing new work, education and outreach.
“We intend to produce artistically innovative, entertaining productions for the local community in a truly regional theatre,” said producing artistic director Sabo said.
Other leadership of In/Visible Theatre includes artistic director Derek Davidson and managing director Wallace.
