The board of the Southern Appalachian Historical Association on March 3 announced that Teresa Lee has accepted the role of director for the 2014 “Horn in the West” season.

Lee, a theater professor at Appalachian State University, brings a career-long dedication to the art of direction and is a longtime friend of both Horn in the West and Hickory Ridge Living History Museum, according to SAHA.

The SAHA board noted that its members “are eternally grateful” to former director Julie A. Richardson, who has decided not to return this year.

“The board would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to Julie for all she’s done in the past, and we look forward to having her advice for many years to come,” a SAHA spokesperson said.
