If you love the game of “Clue,” find mysteries intriguing, or simply enjoy the wild west of North Carolina, the Blowing Rock Hospital Benefit Committee has something for you.

It’s a fundraising, dinner theater presentation of “Murder at the Double D Ranch” on Thursday, June 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Tweetsie Railroad.

The evening begins as local ranch owner Dray Duncan’s guests arrive for his annual Barn Party Barbeque. Unfortunately, Duncan is found murdered, and the murderer is one of his guests.

Sheriff Remington, played by John Alley, is charged with solving the murder. The suspects — each with a motive — are many, and are portrayed by Rosanne Peacock, Sid Greene, John Winkler, Michele Novacek, Alex Hallmark, Lianne Mattar, John Stacy, Marsha Fletcher, Chase Luddeke and Shelia Deal.

With each dinner course, new evidence is revealed and, by the time dessert is served, the audience will become guest detectives helping Remington solve the mystery.

“At the end of the evening, the audience must decide why the murder was committed and who did this dastardly deed,” dinner theater director Trimella Chaney said.

The table determining the correct murderer and the reason for the murder will win a prize donated by the Blowing Rock Chamber of Commerce and the Blue Ridge Mountain Club, and the winners will saddle up for an evening of “Beach Music on the Blue Ridge.”

“Murder at the Double D Ranch” also features a social hour, with music by Dusty Trails, dinner catered by Gadabouts and beverages, including frosty brews, from the Boone Brewing Company.

All proceeds will benefit the new medical facility being developed in the Blowing Rock community. Tickets are $90 per person and include dinner, drinks and the show. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Megan Lynch Ellis at (828) 262-9564 or (mellis@apprhs.org)
