Nationally known humorist Jeanne Robertson will perform at the Ashe Civic Center on Saturday, July 13, in a fundraising event for Habitat for Humanity.

She delighted a sold-out Ashe County audience in 2011, and organizers expect another full house. Robertson’s performance will begin at 7:30 p.m.

“A 6-foot, 2-inch Miss Congeniality winner in the Miss America Pageant ‘years ago,’ Robertson shares hilarious stories from everyday life and always has her audiences shedding tears of laughter,” an event organizer said.

She has produced seven DVD and CD humor programs in the last 14 years, and she can be heard daily on Sirius-XM Radio’s family comedy channels. Her video clips are big hits on YouTube, with “Don’t Send a Man to the Grocery Store” having been viewed more than 5 million times.

According to her bio, Robertson is a North Carolinian who charms her audience by speaking two languages: English and Southern.

Reserved seats are on sale now by calling (336) 846-2787 or visiting the Ashe Arts Council at 303 School Ave. in West Jefferson. Tickets cost $30 each.
