‘Bedside Manners’ at Ensemble Stage
Blowing Rock’s Ensemble Stage presents the comedy, “Bedside Manners,” through Sunday, Sept. 1.
Set in a secluded English hotel, the story revolves around a fellow who agrees to look after the lodging while his sister is away.
However, he did not anticipate all the wild comings and goings and soon finds himself engulfed in confusion and bewilderment, as he tries to prevent the inevitable meetings of husbands, wives and lovers in assorted compromising situations.
“Folks, if you haven’t gotten tickets to ‘Bedside Manners’ yet, you better hurry, because they’re going fast,” Ensemble artistic director Gary Smith said. “We have had to turn people away at the door for all our performances so far, because we were sold out, and if the response of the patrons leaving after the performance is any indication, we’ll be selling out the rest of the shows.”
Of course, he said, it doesn’t hurt when a play has as good a cast as that of “Bedside Manners.” Cast members include Margot Moreland, who spent more than 10 years performing at the Kennedy Center, and Stephen Moore, who recently appeared with NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon in a Pepsi commercial.
Remaining show dates for “Bedside Manners” are 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30 and 31 and 2 p.m. Sept. 1. All performances will be held in the Blowing Rock School Auditorium, located at 160 Sunset Drive in downtown Blowing Rock.
Tickets cost $19 for adults and $17 for senior citizens, students and members of the military. Tickets are available online at http://www.ensemblestage.com or by calling (828) 414-1844.
