Watauga Community Band Fall Concert
The Watauga Community Band presents a fall concert Oct. 14 at Rosen Concert Hall at ASU.
The Watauga Community Band is hosting a fall concert on Sunday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m.
The concert will be held in the Rosen Concert Hall, in the Hayes School of Music on the campus of Appalachian State University. The band, conducted by Bill Winkler, will be performing Igor Stravinsky's "Firebird" and James Horner's "My Heart Will Go On" from the 1997 film, "Titanic," among others.
"There will also be a mystery selection that is sure to surprise the audience," Watauga Community Band's Allison Walsh said.
The band is also welcoming some special guests. Tuba player Brian Bergin will be guest conductor on Stu Phillips' and Glen Larson's "Battlestar Galactica" from the original television series. The German band, Oompah, will also take the stage to perform some pieces.
The concert is free, although donations are welcome, and the public is invited to attend.
