ToneBlazers kick off Banner Elk concert series
The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s first Summer Concert in the Park tunes into Banner Elk Thursday, June 21.
The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. on the Tate-Evans Town Park stage, featuring the ToneBlazers.
The band was formed in 2009 by seasoned musicians who loved the thrill, buzz and magic moments of playing and performing every type of music – from “Motown to Merle,” as its members say, including bluegrass, country and Americana.
Individually throughout their careers, Randy Gambill, Billy Gee, Dale Meyer, Steve Lewis and Jody Call have played with The Country Gentleman, Marty Raybon, Wayne Henderson, George Shuffler and the Kruger Brothers and Michael Reno Harrell, to name a few.
The ToneBlazers released their first CD on Little King Records, “Red Clay Roots,” in April 2011.
Tate-Evans Town Park is located behind Bank of America on N.C. 194. Concert-goers are encourage to bring chairs or blankets and coolers. Food will be available for purchase, as will raffle tickets for various prizes and a cash drawing. Admission is free.
The June 21 concert is sponsored by Erick’s Cheese & Wine, located at 4004 N.C. 105 in the Grandfather Center.
