Tommy James and the Shondells perform Friday

Tommy James and the Shondells perform Friday, May 18 in Wilkesboro.

The show starts at 8 p.m. at the the Walker Center on the campus of Wilkes Community College.
The music of Tommy James is played continuously, everyday, in every country in the world and has been for more than a generation.

To date, James has sold more than 100 million records and has been awarded 23 gold singles and nine gold and platinum albums. His hits include “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” “Crimson and Clover” and “Mony, Mony.”

As of 2010, more than 300 artists have recorded their own rendition of a James tune (among them Prince, R.E.M, Joan Jett, Tom Jones, Cher and Dolly Parton) or performed his songs in concert (including Bruce Springsteen, Kelly Clarkson and Broken Bells).
