Strung Like a Horse at Canyons Nov. 9
Hitting the stage with all the subtlety of an exploding
moonshine still, Chattanooga’s Strung Like a Horse band, general mischief makers and talented
purveyors of “psychobilly slamgrass music,” will make their High Country debut in a free show at
Canyons in Blowing Rock Saturday, Nov. 9.
Formed in Chattanooga, Tenn., in 2010 by bassist B.J. Hitower, drummer Ben Crawford, “Spooky Chicklets” on bass and Clay Maselle on guitar, Strung Like a Horse is composed of self-described “junkyard dogs, who bring honest, playful, head-bangingly interactive fun” to each of their high-voltage shows.
While early November can typically be a somewhat dormant period for area entertainment venues, Canyons manager Stephen Beck said this free concert is a gift to folks who braved construction delays and parking shortages throughout parts of the recent leaf season.
“We wanted to bring a real ‘howl at the moon’ band to let our loyal patrons blow off any built-up seasonal steam they may be holding onto,” he said.
Strung Like a Horse will appear at Canyons of the Blue Ridge, located at 8960 U.S. 321 in Blowing Rock. The Saturday, Nov. 9, show is free, open to all ages and scheduled to start at 9 p.m. For more information, visit http://www.canyonsbr.com or call (828) 295-7661.
