Saxophonist Paul White will join Jazz Ensemble 1 for a Nov. 7 performance at ASU.
Saxophonist Paul White joins Jazz Ensemble 1 for a Nov. 7
performance at Appalachian State University.
The program begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music
Center’s Rosen Concert Hall. Admission is free.
White earned his undergraduate degree from
Appalachian State University. He earned a master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Texas
at Austin. He currently is a staff sergeant and bass saxophonist for The Jazz Ambassadors of the
U.S. Army Field Band based in Washington, D.C.
He is a founding member of the Austin,
Texas-based Paul White Quintet.
The Nov. 7 performance will feature many of White’s
compositions. He will be soloist on “Blues in Another Minute” by Thad Jones.
