Listen to Music, Fight Hunger

“Christmas in the Mountains Vol. 6” goes on sale in early
October, delivering seasonal music from area artists, while serving as a major fundraiser for the
Hunger and Health Coalition.
“Children all over the country like to tell Santa
what they want for Christmas,” project coordinator Leslie Shavell said. “Unfortunately, many
children in our community want nothing more than to have enough food for their families to eat – not
just a Christmas day feast, but food on a daily basis that so many of them are
missing.”
Proceeds specifically benefit the End Childhood Hunger program, and
previous album sales have raised an average of $30,000 per year, Shavell said, and at $10 per copy.
All the music, time and talent are donated by performers, organizers and production staff, and all
proceeds remain in the High Country to help its residents.
“It is unbearable to
think of any child going hungry, and we at the Hunger and Health Coalition try to make this
situation more manageable for the children and their families.”
Seventy-four High
Country will offer the album, and it will also be sold at the Valle Country Fair Oct.
20.
