Jones House goes Strictly Clean and Decent
The town of Boone continues the 2013 Summer Concerts at the
Jones House series this Friday, July 26, with Strictly Clean and Decent and a Les Paul and Mary Ford
tribute from Tom and Sandy Doyle.
“We will start with Strictly Clean and Decent, an excellent group out of Caldwell County that features Kay and Patrick Crouch and Ron Shuffler — of the famous Shuffler bluegrass family,” said Mark Freed, Boone’s cultural resources coordinator and concerts organizer.
Tom and Sandy Doyle will follow with a Les Paul and Mary Ford tribute.
“Tom worked with Les Paul for many years as a sound and guitar tech,” Freed said. “They have been doing this tribute to help keep alive the spirit and music of Paul and Ford.”
Based out of New Jersey, the Doyles just happened to be traveling through, Freed said. “This is a unique opportunity for folks in the High Country to see and hear the Doyles’ tribute,” he said.
The Concerts at the Jones House series is produced by the town of Boone and sponsored by the Downtown Boone Development Association, Mast General Store, Footsloggers, MPrints, Stick Boy Bread Company, Melanie’s and Farmer’s Rentals. The free concerts take place every Friday, starting at 5 p.m., rain or shine. People are encouraged to bring their own chair or blanket.
The Jones House Community and Cultural Center is located at 604 W. King St. in downtown Boone. For more information, including a complete schedule, visit http://www.joneshousecommunitycenter.org or call (828) 262-4576.
