The Get Right Band is returning to Boone and bringing a “booty shaking” good time with it.

The band returns to Boone Saloon at 10 p.m. this Thursday, March 27. The cover is $6 at the door, and all shows after 10 p.m. are for those 21 and older.

The Get Right Band is built on the musical brotherhood that guitarist and singer Silas Durocher and bassist Jesse Gentry have formed playing music together since middle school. With the addition of J.C. Mears, a powerful and dynamic drummer, the group’s sound has become an unstoppable force.

“We are from Asheville, and I think Boone has a similar overall personality of mostly young people who want to hang out and have fun, party and dance,” Durocher said. “That’s what this band is all about.”

The band, which is still relatively young, has a history that far precedes its formative years.

“The bass player, Jesse Gentry, he and I have played together since middle school,” Durocher said. “We formed this strong musical bond. So, I was playing with (a different) band in Asheville several years ago. We brought in a drummer, Chris Pyle, and moved Jesse up to Asheville. The other three of us reformed as The Get Right Band.”

The Get Right Band is the perfect “boogying and party music,” Durocher said.

“We are a very jam-based group, even though we do some improvisational things live. It always comes down to playing good songs with lyrics that people can relate to and finding new arrangements and building that with each live show.”

The band has been touring the East Coast and the Caribbean heavily since forming in April 2011.

“Our goal is complete world domination,” Durocher said. “We are trying to push it as hard as we can and build as many connections as possible. We are all in this for the right reasons. We want to get huge, but not for the fame, glory or money, but for the opportunity that comes with playing bigger crowds and better venues, as well as to collaborate with other musicians.”

This year is already shaping up to be The Get Right Band’s busiest and most exciting year yet. Between performances at major festivals tours with national acts, a packed calendar and a new, full-length album in the works, the band agrees its momentum is building rapidly.
