Ledah and Willa Finck are better known across the region as fiddlers in the Celtic group The Forget-Me-Nots, but this Friday they will be sharing their classical violin skills.
The public is invited to attend a recital of classical violin music by the Fincks on Friday, Aug. 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall at the Broyhill Music Center on the campus of Appalachian State University.
The program will feature works by Bach, Beach, Beethoven, DeBeriot, Lalo, and Wieniawski.
Laura Chu Stokes and Aaron Ames will provide piano accompaniment.
Willa, a freshman, and Ledah, a junior, both at Watauga High School, began violin lessons with Nan Stricklen of Banner Elk in spring 1999.
Their current teacher is Dr. Nancy Bargerstock, violin professor in the Hayes School of Music.
Both are also first violinists in the ASU Symphony Orchestra.
A reception will follow the recital.
