Drawlstrings open for Paleface Sept. 13
The Drawlstrings will perform Sept. 13 at Legends, opening for Paleface.
Garage folk rockers The Drawlstrings will be joining the ranks
of folky darlings Paleface for a show at Legends the Appalachian State University campus Sept
13. Paleface, hailed as a “a neo-folk icon” by The Flagpole in Athens, Ga., recently celebrated the
release of their new Ramseur Records release, “One Big Party,” with a special guest-performance
alongside friends The Avett Brothers at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, followed by U.S. and
European tours.
And soon after, PASTE Magazine premiered "Paleface: The Making of ‘One Big
Party,’" a short documentary that follows the band recording its new album and traveling across the
U.S., including clips from live performances in New York City and Boston's The House of Blues. After
an online poll asking Boone music fans who they felt Paleface should play, with the group decided to
obtain the sounds of The Drawlstrings to open up the night for them. As Boone locals, The
Drawlstrings are looking forward for a new group of students and music fans to hear their newer
material and push out the early 2012 self-release EP, "Pants Before Shoes.”
The show takes
place Thursday, Sept. 13, at Legends, located on Hardin Street. Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets cost $6
in advance for students and $9 for guests and at the door. Legends has a BYOB six-pack limit with
valid ID.
