Dashboard Blue plays Banner Elk July 12
The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce’s fourth Summer Concert in the Park takes place Thursday, July 12.
Performing will be Dashboard Blue, a five-piece band based in Asheville with 25-plus years of professional experience playing and entertaining at venues of all sizes. Always a crowd favorite, Dashboard Blue plays a wide variety of music, including rock, rhythm and blues, 1950s, disco, funk, pop, beach, country and a few classics.
“It’s all those great timeless tunes that we loved to hear coming from the dashboard radio, arranged with tight harmonies and danceable grooves,” a band spokesman said.
The band’s musical influences include The Doobie Brothers, Jimmy Buffett, The Eagles, Motown, James Taylor, Stevie Ray Vaughan, James Brown and others.

The free concert starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Tate-Evans Town Park stage, located behind the Bank of America on N.C. 194.
Those attending are asked to bring chairs or blankets to sit on and they can bring coolers.
Food will also be available for purchase. In addition, raffle tickets can be purchased for prizes, as well as for a cash drawing.
