Cordovas & Melissa Reaves play May 10 at Char
Cordovas will perform May 10 at Char in downtown Boone.
After releasing two albums last year, a debut self-titled
full-length and a live album recording in Nashville, Tenn., Cordovas is coming to Boone – with a
special guest.
Performing Thursday, May 10, at Char in downtown Boone, the genre-bending trio
featuring co-founder Joe Firstman welcomes area blues-rock powerhouse Melissa Reaves to join in
the fun.
Cordovas is described in its bio as “truly a band to experience live. Their
performances are always changing and evolving, never giving the same show twice, but their
spontaneity is far from chaotic.
With signature harmonies and rugged soulfulness, Cordovas
(completes) the picture with accomplished musician.”
“I like the journey I’m on,”
Firstman said. “I think the stories in the music set Cordovas apart.”
Reaves has been
bringing rock, funk, R&B and powerful vocals her audience for more than a decade.
She’s shared the stage with such luminaries as Robert Plant, Sarah McLachlan, Leon
Russell, Sheryl Crow, Cyndi Lauper, Sister Sledge, Gloria Gaynor, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Doc Watson
and Little Feat, among many others.
She can now add Cordovas to that list.
The show
starts at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Char, located at 179 Howard Street in downtown Boone. For
