Concerts at Hayes School of Music
Harmonia Baroque performs Jan. 21
The Hayes School of Music’s Faculty Performance Series opens its spring semester with a Jan. 21 program by Harmonia Baroque, a faculty ensemble that specializes in music from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Recital Hall at Appalachian State University. Admission is free and the public is invited.
Ensemble members are Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham, Alicia Chapman, Priscilla Porterfield, Corinne Cassini and Michael Bell. They will perform works by Jean-Baptiste Loeillet, Benedetto Marcello, Maurizio Cazzati and Antonio Vivaldi.
Hayes String Ensemble performs Jan. 22
Join the Hayes String Ensemble Jan. 22 for an evening of classical and contemporary music.
The free performance begins at 6 p.m. in Broyhill Music Center’s Rosen Concert Hall at Appalachian State University.
The ensemble is comprised of graduate students from the Hayes School of Music.
The musicians will perform “String Quartet No. 4” by Peteris Vasks, “Images” by Marcel Tournier, “Quintet for Harp and Strings” by Arnold Bax and “String Quartet No.10, Op.74” by Ludwig van Beethoven.
