Banner Elk Concerts in the Park

Banner Elk is tuning up for this year’s Summer Concerts in the Park series.
Starting June 21, the 2012 series features 11 genre-spanning performances, including acts from ToneBlazers, Billy Scott and the Party Prophets, Buck Haggard, Dashboard Blue, Jeff Luckadoo & Southern Wave, Mad Dog Johnson with Don Vallarta, Mountain Soul, Wolf Creek, Dallas Reese, Deep River and the Whip Daddys.
Concerts are held Thursday evenings, from June 21 through Aug. 30, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Tate Evans Town Park stage, located just off N.C. 194 behind the Bank of America.
Each concert features raffle tickets for a variety of prizes and a cash drawing. Food vendors will be on site, although concert-goers are invited to bring their own picnic.
“Come unwind with us, shake a leg on the dance floor, listen to great music and socialize with wonderful people,” said a representative from the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the series.
Fido’s also welcome to attend, provided he or she is well behaved and kept on a leash.
