Acoustic Syndicate at Canyons
Canyons is going acoustic.
On Saturday, April 13, Canyons of the Blue Ridge in Blowing Rock will host a live concert, featuring modern bluegrass band Acoustic Syndicate.
The show starts at 10 p.m., and advance tickets are $20 per person.
Acoustic Syndicate formed in 1992 and immediately established itself as a completely original band, blending elements of bluegrass, country, pop, rock and even reggae.
With soulful vocal harmonies and clever, original tunes, the band became one of the more popular live acts from Western North Carolina.
After several years of non-stop touring and recording, the band took a hiatus to devote time to family. That has made their sporadic live shows something of a special event these days, and their concerts always sell out quickly.
Today, Acoustic Syndicate is made up of Bryon McMurry on vocals, banjo and guitar, Fitz McMurry on vocals, drums and percussion, Steve McMurry on vocals, guitar and mandolin, Jay Sanders on bass and N/S Stick, and Billy Cardine on dobro and electric Resophonic guitar.
Canyons is located at 8960 Valley Blvd. in Blowing Rock. For more information on this show, or to order tickets, call Canyons of the Blue Ridge at (828) 295-7661.
