Green Mother Goods, Earth Fare help Children’s Playhouse

Green Mother Goods, located at 116 W. King St., sells unique, eco-friendly items, and will also help upgrade

the baby play space at the Children’s Playhouse. For each cash sale in June and July, Green Mother Goods will make a donation to the Children’s Playhouse for its baby area.

People can stroll next door to Earth Fare, located at 178 West King Street, for their groceries. People who shop at Earth Fare in the month of July, Earth Fare will donate 10 cents for every re-used bag. Parents can attend Playhouse Kids’ Day at Earth Fare on Saturday, July 26 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m, which will feature live music, fun art activities and lunch. Earth Fare will serve veggie or beef burgers, fruit, cookies, lemonade, and snacks and donate the proceeds to the Playhouse.

July Programs at the Children’s Playhouse
Located at 400 Tracy Circle near downtown Boone, The Children’s Playhouse provides children from birth to age eight with an enriching play environment while at the same time offering their parents friendly support in the important job of raising children.

The Playhouse is open for drop-in play 10 a.m. -5 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays and 10 a.m. -3 p.m. Saturdays. Admission is $5 per person. Infants under 1 year are free.

Silly Songs with Dave Hutchinson
10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18 at The Children’s Playhouse located at 400 Tracy Circle.

Using Children’s Literature to Reinforce Kids’ Behavior

Jana Duke will share some of her favorite books for discussing common behavior challenges—such a whining, tantrums, or sharing difficulties—with kids. Free to members or with paid admission to The Playhouse.

Our Earth and Her Sounds
10-10:45 a.m. Thurs, July 24
Aaron Teague teaches family music classes for kids birth to age 6 that promote parent-child connections through singing, moving, and playing instruments. Cost is $9 per class for members and $12 for non-members. Registration required; call (828) 263-0011.

Mama’s Music with Shalene Wyrick
10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30
Classically trained vocalist and Playhouse mom, Shalene Wyrick will sing fun kid’s songs and classical gems. Free to members or with paid admission.

Polymer Bead Workshop for Ages 5 and up
3:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30th
Learn how to make beautiful beads and friendship bracelets out of polymer clay. $3 for members, $8 for nonmembers (includes admission).
