Lights begins this weekend and lasts until Blowing Rock
celebrates Winterfest in January.

Resort at Blowing Rock unveils its Festival of Lights on the Friday
following Thanksgiving Day. This spectacular illumination of more
than 50,000 lights has been a tradition in Blowing Rock for 18
years.
Chetola Resort will feature horse and carriage rides around Chetola
Lake on Friday, November 23 and Saturday, November 24 from 5 pm
to 9 pm. The cost is $12 per person.
Kids can also participate in cookie decorating on these two nights
and visit with Santa in the lobby of the Manor House. Complimentary
hot apple cider is available daily from Thanksgiving to Christmas.
All of the above activities take place in the Manor House Restaurant
located on the main level of the Bob Timberlake Inn at Chetola
Resort. Everyone is welcome. A Norman Rockwell Christmas
Parade also takes place in downtown Blowing Rock on Saturday,
November 24th at 2 pm.
After the Thanksgiving holiday, the Festival of Lights continues
right through Christmas and New Years. The lights stay up
through late January for Blowing Rock Winterfest which runs from
January 24-27, 2008. Chetolas most popular package of the
year, Holiday Shopping Spree Package, runs from November 25 through
December 24 and includes accommodations in Chetola Lodge, The
Bob Timberlake Inn at Chetola Resort or Chetolas Condominiums
which range in size from one to four bedrooms. The package also
includes a complimentary bottle of champagne, a $50 Gift Card
to Tanger Shoppes on the Parkway, a value certificate to the Bob
Timberlake Gallery and a guest discount certificate to Designer

Shopping Spree Packages start at just $165 per room for one night
in Chetola Lodge midweek. Week-ends in Chetola Lodge require a
two night stay with packages starting at $346. Packages in Chetolas
condominiums start at just $348 for two nights midweek and $420
for two nights on the week-ends. Holiday Shopping Packages in
The Bob Timberlake Inn start at $266 for one night midweek and
$608 for two nights on the week-ends.
Chetolas Festival of Lights will stay illuminated until
the end of January when the 10th Annual Blowing Rock Winterfest
takes place. Blowing Rock Winterfest Packages start on January
24 and run through January 27, 2007. The packages include a $25
gift card to Tanger Outlets and admission to several Winterfest
events. Winterfest is a three day celebration throughout the Village
of Blowing Rock and features events such as Polar Plunge in Chetola
Lake, Downtown Hayrides, Chili Challenge, Wine Auction, Ice Carving
Competition, Bonfires in the Park and much more. Condominium Packages
at Chetola are the best value with a third night free or check
out as late as you want on day three. Condo packages start at
just $311 for two nights in Chetola Lodge and $373 for three nights
in a condominium.
