As of press time, a limited number of tickets were still available for the ever-popular Boone screening of favorites from the annual Banff Mountain Film Festival in Alberta, Canada.
The festival’s film tour returns to Appalachian State University’s Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts Friday and Saturday, March 28 and 29, starting at 7:30 p.m. both nights. The screenings will be preceded by live music in the Schaefer Center lobby, and concessions will be available. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

“We are just about out, so (we) encourage people to get them soon,” said Rich Campbell, associate director of ASU Outdoor Programs, which presents the annual screenings.
The Banff Mountain Film Festival is hosted annually by the Alberta, Canada-based Banff Centre, located within Canada’s Banff National Park. The center describes itself as the country’s “creative leader in arts and culture,” its mission being to inspire creativity.
A selection of films is chosen for the festival’s annual world tour, which hosts more than 500 screenings on all continents.
