The artists of the Blue Ridge Fine Art Guild (BRAG) are touting their bragging rights.
Their new show, “Brag on Avery,” features everything Avery, such as life, rivers, waterfalls, churches, old barns, architecture, people and scenic landscapes.
Twenty-three BRAG artists are participating in the show, which opened Aug. 6 at the Dickson Gallery at Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville (just north of the U.S. 221 intersection with N.C. 194).
The show, which will run through Sept. 29, is hosted by the Avery Arts Council and supported by the Toe River Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts organization.
The next BRAG show will be at the McElroy House in Burnsville and feature Old Tools and Blue Ridge Pottery in a double exhibition with the Yancey History Association. This exhibition will open Sept. 26 and run until Oct. 27. The opening reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sept. 28 at the McElroy House.
The Blue Ridge Fine Arts Guild meets monthly at the Burnsville Town Center. This month, guild members will host a demonstration by Jim Carson on Aug. 23, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
