Watauga Parks and Rec offers summer camps

Are your kids bored in the summer?

Then they must not live in the High Country.

Starting in June, Watauga County Parks and Recreation is offering two summer camps for young fun-seekers and adventurers alike.

Summer Adventure and Fun in the Sun are geared toward children ages 5 through 13, who are rising first- through seventh-graders.

Summer Adventure camp runs June 16 to Aug. 1 and includes field trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wildcat Lake, Barter Theatre, Zaloo’s Canoes, miniature golf, Valle Crucis Park, Bo’s Family Entertainment, the Orchard at Altapass and weekly pool trips. The cost is $95 per week.

Fun in the Sun camp runs June 2 to Aug. 1 and includes weekly field trips to the Watauga Swim Complex, Fun Factory, Bo’s, local parks, the Catawba Science Center, Steel Creek, Doc’s Rocks Gem Mine and more. The cost is $85 per week.
