Ventriloquist Kevin Johnson in Lenoir Feb. 18
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute’s J.E. Broyhill Civic Center will welcome ventriloquist and comedian Kevin Johnson on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
Johnson is known for his “clean comedy” and is mostly recognized from his 2006 appearance on NBC’s primetime show, “America’s Got Talent,” where 18 million viewers were enjoyed his “Godzilla Theater.” He also appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
Throughout Johnson’s show, the audience will see and experience different variations of ventriloquism. Although guests will never see his mouth move, the real magic happens with the believability of his characters, including Matilda and Clyde, his two closest friends.
Johnson recently added a new character, Harley, as a tribute to his grandfather, Harley Noles, who performed magic shows and introduced Johnson to the stage at age 13 for his first five-minute act.
Johnson will perform live at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center on Saturday, Feb. 18, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students and children.
