The St. John's Episcopal Church Summer Concert Series presents the Trinity Cathedral Choir on Sunday evening, Sept. 4, for the third and final concert of this summer's series.

The Cathedral Singers, the principal choir from Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Columbia, S.C., is an elite choir of 12 professional voices singing a cappella, which continues a 200-year tradition at the cathedral.

Offering a repertoire of some 400 sacred works, they sing annually at more than 150 services and tour regularly throughout the United States and abroad. Recent tours include performances at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.; St. Thomas Church in New York; and Canterbury, St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey, and York Minster in England. This group is slated to tour Italy in 2012 and will perform at High Mass at the Vatican.

The concert begins at 5 p.m. at St. John the Baptist of the Lower Watauga Episcopal Church in Valle Crucis. Admission is $10 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted free.

To get to St. John's, take N.C. 194 in front of the Original Mast General Store. Proceed west to Mast Gap Road, and turn left onto Mast Gap. Travel about a half-mile, and turn left onto Herb Thomas Road. Follow that to the end.

Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged For more information, call Holy Cross Episcopal Church at (828) 963-4609.
