benefit the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
The Huntington’s Disease Society of
America is a nonprofit agency dedicated to finding a cure for the hereditary, degenerative brain
disorder.
Huntington’s disease slowly diminishes the effected individual’s ability to
walk, talk and reason. Someone with HD will eventually rely on family members for his or her care.
One out of every 10,000 Americans has HD. After the onset of the disease, someone usually
only lives for 10 to 20 more years. The younger one is when onset occurs, the faster the disease
progresses, according to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America.
