The Knob open for registration
The Knob, a two-mile race taking place Oct. 5, is part of the High Country Triple Crown, a running series that showcases the High Country’s scenery and communities.
The BlueCross and BlueShield Institute for Health and Human
Services (IHHS), within the College of Health Sciences at Appalachian State University, announces
the opening of registration for “The Knob.”
All proceeds will benefit Girls on the Run
of the High Country, a self-esteem building program for girls in the third through eighth
grades.
The Knob, sponsored by Foscoe Rentals, is a two-mile race and will be held Oct. 5 at
5:30 p.m. as an annual event of Appalachian’s Homecoming celebration.
As the third race in
the High Country Triple Crown series, The Knob will offer special awards to overall winners and
age-group winners. Also following the race, grand prizes of $1,000 in cash will be given to the top
six winners of the Triple Crown series.
Registration for The Knob is $30 per person until
race day. Participants may register the day of the event until 5 p.m. at the Watauga County
Library.
