Taking It to the Street
Howard Street comes to life Sunday, April 13, with the first
Howard Street Exchange of 2014.
The third event of its kind, presented by Boone Community Network, the street festival will feature live music, live art, vendors and food, as the community is invited to celebrate, well, community.
The inaugural event took place April 7, as part of the New Economy Summit. “Now, the local social entrepreneurs at Boone Community Network are hosting the event with the intention of making the fair a fixture of downtown,” a BCN news release reads.
“The spectacular attendance and atmosphere of the previous events inspired the organizers to hold the event again. The blend of families, students and community members enjoying the music, the vendors, specials at Howard Street restaurants, as well as Boone’s finest food trucks, was too much fun not to have happen again.”
Local businesses, nonprofits or bands that would like to participate are encouraged to contact organizer Ben Loomis at (757) 876-1093 or (firstname.lastname@example.org) For more information on the Howard Street Exchange, visit http:// howardstreetexchange.squarespace.com.
