Tickets are still available for the upcoming 2011 Watauga Humane Society Fur Ball.

The Watauga Humane Society Fur Ball will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, from 5:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center in Boone.

The 2011 Fur Ball will feature a variety of events within the main event itself. Those attending will be able to purchase wine raffle tickets for $20 each or three for $50. There are 50-plus bottles of wine, and the winner takes all.

At the reception, there will be music by Melissa Reaves, and those attending can browse the many items available to bid on in the silent auction. Auction items include gift certificates from local restaurants and sport and fitness clubs, home accessories, pet supplies, rounds of golf, tennis lessons, clothing and "Art in the Bark," which includes a collection of original artworks, pottery and jewelry, among other things.

There will also be a gourmet dinner served with a choice of filet mignon, chicken picatta or vegetarian entree. After dinner, the band, Laditude, will provide dance music.

The live auction portion of the ball will include a week's stay at a Florida beach condo, an original painting by Nancy Brittelle and jewelry.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Watauga Humane Society.
