Bare Essentials Natural Market will present an interactive eight-week community workshop adapted from Dr. Andrew Weil’s latest New York Times bestseller, “Spontaneous Happiness,” beginning Sept. 26.
The community workshop will be led by Ben Henderson, co-owner and general manager of Bare Essentials Natural Market in Boone. Henderson will offer guidance and tools each week to help participants “unlock” their own key to lifelong happiness.
Each workshop will include a video of Weil offering his personal insights and coaching to support participants as they begin their journey to transform their wellbeing, according to Henderson.
Participants in the Spontaneous Happiness Community Workshop will gain a new approach to living a life they love and a plan of action based on their own personal goals, learn how to discover more joy in their life, develop integrative ways to manage stress, including whole food nutrition and supplementation, and learn simple ways to improve sleep, increase energy and achieve balance and serenity.
The Spontaneous Happiness Community Workshop includes participants’ own copy of “Spontaneous Happiness,” a week-by-week course manual with overview, focused discussion topics and community connection section, the option to receive weekly emails of encouragement and access to online community to support your learning, and an opportunity to connect with like-minded participants in a comfortable group environment.
In “Spontaneous Happiness,” Weil writes, “Humans crave the feeling of connection within a community. However, modern lifestyles and, especially, digital media have made it possible for people to live isolated lives, a trend that contributes significantly to the preponderance of negative emotions. The foundation of emotional wellness is contentment, serenity and comfort. It is normal for moods to vary, yet if you feel you have too little spontaneous happiness, know that you can make changes to let more of it in.”
The Spontaneous Happiness Community Workshop begins Wednesday, Sept. 26, and runs for eight weeks. Sessions are from 6 to 7 p.m. at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System’s Wellness Center Classroom (across from Bare Essentials Natural Market). Cost is $35 per person. Advance registration is required, and seating is limited. To register, or for more information, call Ben Henderson at (828) 262-5592 or email (email@example.com
