Shooting Stars are about to streak across the stage as an annual tradition readies its return to the High Country.

Watauga Education Foundation has officially selected its acts for the 2010 Shooting Stars Showcase.
Seventy acts auditioned Saturday, and 25 were chosen. That's a lot of talent for one county.

"You blow me away with your poise, your humor, your smiles and your talent," organizer Alison Idol told competitors.

The showcase gives Watauga youth the chance to shine and doubles as a fundraiser for WEF.
The showcase happens Friday, April 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Farthing Auditorium on the Appalachian State University campus.
