Shooting Stars Golf Classic, art auction May 14

The Shooting Stars Golf Classic and Art Auction will be held Friday, May 14.

The second aannual Shooting Stars Golf Classic will be held at the Hound Ears Club.

"Bring a foursome to play this venerable course and support the Watauga Education Foundation," a spokesperson for the event said. Greens fees include lunch, golf, dinner and drinks, plus admission to an art auction of one-of-a-kind chalkboards from some of the area's most prominent artists.

All proceeds benefit the Watauga Education Foundation and its mission to inspire Watauga students to achieve their highest potential.

The Golf Classic format will be a two person team scramble (captain's choice). Teams will be handicapped.

"Come as a team, or come as an individual and we will put you on a team," the spokesperson said.

Cost is $175 per player, which includes lunch, golf, beverages (beer and wine after golf), dinner, admission to the Shooting Stars Art auction, and lots of prizes.

Tickets for dinner and the auction only are also available.

Golf Classic prizes include $25,000 cash for hole-in-one and other prizes, trophies and gift certificates for longest drive, shortest drive, longest putt, team winners, best score, worst score and more. For more information, call John Hastings at 828-265-9534 or (johnhastings@charter.net)
