Peace, Love & Healing
Melissa Reaves will perform at a Nov. 3 benefit for Boone resident Mary Anne Maier.
Area artists are banding together Thursday, Nov. 3, to benefit
Mary Anne Maier.
A long-time Boone resident, Maier was seriously injured in a car accident in
July, leaving her with severe injuries that required 14 surgeries and a lengthy stay at Wake Forest
Baptist Medical Center.
With a long road to recovery ahead, including extensive
rehabilitation and additional surgeries, Maier is uncertain when she’ll return to work. To offset
her medical costs, a few of her friends are doing what they do best: Perform.
The Nov. 3
fundraiser will include performances from Melissa Reaves, Lisa Baldwin & Dave Haney, Klee Liles,
The Lost Faculties, Black Sheep Theatre and more, as well as food and drink, a silent auction and
door prizes.
Auction donations include a seven-night stay in Taxco, Mexico, autographed
books, Carolina Panthers tickets, gift certificates for massage, facials, restaurants, handmade
items from Hands Gallery, mosaics, jewelry, pottery, woven clothing, wood carvings, framed prints
and more.
The fundraiser takes place at 130 N. Depot St. in downtown Boone. Admission is a
suggested $10 donation. For more information, contact Kirsten Tiedemann at (kirstenmosaic@gmail.com) or Elizabeth West at (elizabethwest@riseup.net) For more information, visit
