Tickets are now on sale for Wilkes Playmakers' production of The Wizard of Oz.
Show dates are Nov. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m., and Nov. 15 and 22 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. The show will be presented at Benton Hall, 300 D St., in North Wilkesboro. MasterCard and Visa are accepted.

To purchase tickets, order online at or call (336) 838-7529 and leave name, telephone number, date of the performance you wish to attend and number of tickets. Tickets may also be purchased on the date of each performance one hour prior to each performance on a first come first serve basis. Tickets cannot be held without being secured by either a MasterCard or Visa.

This beloved show is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year and is in good company.
It was released the same year as Gone with the Wind and Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. The script closely follows the famous movie, and this will be the third time Wilkes Playmakers has produced it.

"We get requests for this show all the time," said Karen Reynolds, director of the production. "It's one of the most popular shows we've ever done."
