Historic downtown Wilkesboro’s popular “Third Friday” open air
market events return for 2012 from 4 to 9 p.m. on April 20.
The market will also be held from
4 to 9 p.m. on May 18, June 15, July 20 and Aug. 17.
Third Friday events will feature
downtown merchants, food vendors, local wineries, musicians, regional farms and produce, arts and
crafts, demonstrators and nonprofit and civic organizations.
Each Third Friday Open Air
Market will be themed with live music. Children’s activities will also be provided.
Admission is free.
The Open Air Market will take place in the town-owned parking area
located adjacent to the Wilkes Heritage Museum at 100 East Main St.
“We continue to
strive to build a more sustainable local food network and buying culture, and we hope that you will
join us on this journey,” market officials said.

downtown. The weekly market will offer “fresh from the farm” fruits, vegetables and plants, as well
as handcrafted products. The market’s focus is also on supporting and sustaining the local
farm and artisan community.
The “regular” Open Air Market will take place from 4 to 8
p.m. every Friday afternoon from April 20 into fall 2012.
