Motown in the Mountains
Soul Benefactor will perform at Motown in the Mountains, a benefit for the Boone Service League, to be held May 11.
Each spring, Boone Service League holds its largest fundraiser
of the year.
This year, there’s a new twist.
Boone-based soul, funk and classic rock
band Soul Benefactor will be inspiring attendees to dance the night away as if it were the 1960s
all over again.
On Friday, May 11, the festivities begin at 7 p.m. at the
Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock with plenty of food, music, dancing, a cash bar, silent auctions
and live auctions, featuring auctioneer Jenny Miller.
Hundreds of items are
available at the silent auction, with plenty of bargains to be had. Items include restaurant gift
certificates, overnight stays, “An Appalachian Summer” tickets, ski and tubing passes, pet
supplies, spa treatments, artwork, fashion items, home décor, oil changes and much, much
more.
Tickets are $35 each or $60 per couple. Tickets are available from any Boone
Service League member, by visiting http://www.booneserviceleague.org, or by calling (828)
264-9955.
Boone Service League is a group of High Country women whose fundraising efforts
help meet many needs on the local level. All funds raised stay in Ashe, Avery and Watauga
counties.
