Recent Appalachian State University graduate and reigning Miss North Carolina America National Teenage Scholarship Organization Lindsey Shapiro is no ordinary beauty queen.
Shapiro carried a double major of cellular molecular biology and certified chemistry while a student at ASU and played the viola in the talent portion of the pageant where she pursued the title of Miss America Carolina America National Teenage Scholarship Organization.
The Davidson native will be on hand to meet with the public and sign photographs at Celeste Interiors in Blowing Rock from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, May 25 and 26.
Shapiro will also be modeling the new spring and summer fashions at Celeste Interiors.
Shapiro decided to enter the Miss North Carolina ANTSO pageant a week before it was held last year. It was her first-ever pageant and her poise and beauty won over the judges who awarded her the crown.
At the national competition in 2011, Shapiro was named the second runner-up overall and won the most photogenic competition.
She is currently an official North Carolina spokeswoman for the prevention and cure of Alzheimer’s disease.
Celeste Interiors is located at 1132 Main St. in downtown Blowing Rock. For more information, call (828) 295-3481.
