Mast Store celebrates Christmas in the Valle
The Original Mast General Store in Valle Crucis is hosting Christmas in the Valle on weekends now through Dec. 24.
This Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4 and 5, visitors can have their pet's picture made with Santa Paws. Mr. and Mrs. Paws will be at the Little Red Schoolhouse, behind the original store, from 1 to 4 p.m. This is a fundraiser for the Watauga Humane Society.
Children 12 and under are invited to unleash their creativity this Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during a free Make-and-Take Craft Activity. Of course parents can help. Everyone is encouraged to bring a warm scarf, mittens or a cozy toboggan to donate to the Share the Warmth campaign.
Folks can also meet local author Francie Hall on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. She will be autographing and reading her book "Appalachian ABCs," which links each letter to the natural world or a custom in the Appalachian Mountains.
More events will follow next weekend, including visits with Santa, Make-and-Take Crafts, food tastings, and more. Call the Mast Store at (828) 963-6511 for more information.
